Châteaux, abbeys and estates within an hour of the city
Most Paris weddings do not happen in Paris. They happen forty minutes outside it, in a château or an abbey with a lawn, and the city is where the guests sleep.
Why couples leave the city
Space, and a licence to make noise after eleven at night. Paris venues almost all close their outdoor areas early; the estates around it do not. For a wedding that runs until three in the morning, the Paris region is the practical answer rather than a compromise.
The other reason is cost per guest. The same budget buys a full-day exclusive of a country estate or four hours of a Paris salon.
The places I return to
Abbaye des Vaux de Cernay, a twelfth-century abbey in the Chevreuse valley — stone, water and remarkable late light. Domaine de Quincampoix in the Essonne, with long avenues of trees. Ferme d’Armenon, a working farm converted with restraint. And the cluster of orangeries and private châteaux around Versailles.
How a regional wedding differs
The day starts earlier and ends later. Transport for guests becomes part of the timeline, and arrival at the venue usually eats an hour that couples forget to plan for.
I cover the whole region without a travel charge — I live in Colombes, twenty minutes north-west of the centre. Coverage starts at €2,900.

Can guests travel out from Paris and back the same evening?
Most estates within an hour are reachable by car or by RER, but the last trains are early. Couples who plan a late party usually arrange coaches.
Do you scout the venue beforehand?
When I have not worked there before, yes — a thirty-minute visit at roughly the hour of your ceremony, so I see the real light rather than the brochure light.
