The Hauts-de-Seine wrap around western Paris. It is where I live, and the département I photograph without ever looking at a map.
A ring of towns, not a suburb
Boulogne, Neuilly, Suresnes, Sceaux and Colombes each have their own town hall, their own character and their own reception venues. Several have parks that rival anything inside the city — the parc de Sceaux in particular, with its canal and its perspectives.
Where weddings happen
Town halls first: the civil ceremony in the 92 is usually where the day begins. Then orangeries, private clubs along the Seine, and the wooded edges of Saint-Cloud and Meudon. I live in Colombes, in the northern loop of the river.
Why it matters that I am local
I know which town hall gives you fifteen minutes and which gives you thirty, where the light falls in the parc de Sceaux at six in the evening, and how long it really takes to cross the département on a Saturday.
